Expedition on the Black sand
On the same day that the surviving shipwrecked men were rescued, a group of Icelanders went 118 years later on an expedition to the location of the wreck.
The German media has shown this project a great interest. At the time of this coverage, the working title was Black Sand, which was later changed to Beyond the Moon. When the first interview with Einar Magnús (scriptwriter) appeared in the newspaper Nordsee Zeitung, he used the opportunity to call for information about the descendants of the shipwrecked men. Subsequently, he got in contact with some descendants and reached access to previously unpublished and invaluable documents. Two articles were published in Nordsee Zeitung, and they can be seen here.
TV Crew from the Radio Bremen/Bremerhaven followed Einar Magnus for 2 days in Germany, and their coverage can be seen here. Radio program, by Radio Bremen, is scheduled to be broadcasted in November. There is an idea developing by Radio Bremen to shoot a documentary in Iceland about the work of the script - without of course mentioning the basic plot of the story.
